LOCATION & GETTING TO BUKIT LARUT (MAXWELL HILL)


Maxwell Hill is situated mere 3 km from Taiping town, Bukit Larut is Malaysia's oldest and smallest hill resort. Formerly known as Maxwell Hill, it is accessible only by a four-wheel drive service. From the foot of the hill, the journey up to the top of Bukit Larut is by government Land Rover and take 30 minutes to reach the top.
The resort offers a spectacular view of the straits of Malacca up to Pulau Pangkor (Pangkor Island) and, on a fine day, even Penang Island. The recreation park and the profusion of flowers attract many visitors. Overnight accommodation are also available. Bukit Larut was developed early last century by the colonial British as a retreat from the stifling heat and humidity of the lowlands.

The Land Rover operational hour is from 8.00am to 4.00pm daily with a frequency of 1 hour. Ticket prices is about RM 6 for adult and RM 3 for children. Booking to take the 4-wheel drive by group can be done at:
